Turn a video script OR a source video URL (IG reel / YouTube / TikTok) into a 55/45 split-format vertical short — custom-generated animations in the top 55%, the AI persona (Megan/Danny) talking in a rounded band across the bottom 45%, narration + kinetic captions synced to the persona's voice. Zero source pixels used. Trigger when Kevin drops a script or a short-form video link and wants the split animated version for a persona.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Split Animated Short (55/45 — LOCKED FORMAT, Kevin 2026-07-12)
Kevin's flagship original-content format: "video script / video download →
video clone + custom animation recreate." Every frame is generated — the
animations are authored per script, the persona narrates, nothing is copied
from the source video except its words.
Reference implementation (first approved video):
`clone-projects/Danc08PA0kz-animated/` — `render5.py` (the 55/45 build) +
`render2.py` (asset library + beat engine). Copies live in `templates/`.
Per video, create `projects/<slug>-animated/` and adapt.
## Persona constants (vertical looks)
Fill in your own HeyGen looks (HeyGen dashboard → Avatars / Voices, or `GET /v2/avatars`):

**Your own avatar** (char_type `avatar`, not a talking_photo): submit with
`{"type":"avatar","avatar_id":"<AVATAR_ID>","avatar_style":"normal"}` and its
`voice_id`. Some avatar renders come back LETTERBOXED (content ~y648-1296 of the
1080x1920 frame, light bars above/below). Band crop that fills 704x578

How to install
mdr add kevinbadi/open-edits/split-animated-short@sha256:38cb80506329e1f1The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261002.34d1c9f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
