Upgrade the installed vibestack pack to the latest release, run version migrations, and show what changed.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## When to invoke
Use when asked to "upgrade", "update vibestack", "get the latest skills", or
after `vibe-update-check` reports a newer version is available (a preamble that
sees `UPDATE:` in the update-check output runs the **Inline upgrade flow** below;
a direct `/vibe-upgrade` runs **Standalone usage**).
# /vibe-upgrade — Update vibestack to the latest release
Claude Code ships a built-in `/upgrade`, so this skill stays namespaced as
`/vibe-upgrade`. Binaries live in `~/.vibestack/bin/` (`vibe-config`,
`vibe-update-check`) and mutable state lives under `~/.vibestack/`.
## Inline upgrade flow
This section is referenced by skill preambles when they detect an available
update (`UPDATE:` line from `vibe-update-check`).
### Step 1: Ask the user (or auto-upgrade)
First, check whether auto-upgrade is enabled:

**If `AUTO_UPGRADE=true` or `AUTO_UPGRADE=1`:** Skip the question. Log
"Auto-upgrading vibestack v{old} → v{new}..." and proceed directly to Step 2.

How to install
mdr add timurgaleev/vibestack/vibe-upgrade@sha256:4e86980166caca3eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.11d1a4f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
