Configure shadowclone clones on this machine. A clone is Claude Code or Codex that works as the user, in Docker, toward a draft pull request. Use it when the user asks for clones, cloud sessions, or a background agent that works as them.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Set Up Clones Do the whole setup for the user. The user answers questions in chat, pastes tokens into a file, and approves the skill files. Run the steps in order. Do not explain a step that works. A clone runs Claude Code or Codex as the user, on the user's own subscription or key, in Docker on this machine. The user starts it from the CLI or from an agent that has the shadowclone MCP tools. ## Rules - Never ask for a token in chat, and never read the secrets file. The user pastes each token into the secrets file. - Show the skill files to the user. Call the next step with `approve: true` only after the user agrees. - If a step fails, show the exact error, fix what you can, and run the step again. ## 1. Check the machine (1 minute) 1. Run `shadowclone --version`. If the command is missing, install the CLI with `npm install -g @shadowclone/cli@latest`. Never use `sudo`. 2. Run `gh auth status`. If it reports no login, ask the user to run `gh auth login` in a terminal. 3. Run `docker info`. If Docker does not run, ask the user to start Docker Desktop, OrbStack, or Docker Engine. ## 2. How to install
mdr add theonly1me/shadowclone/setup-clones@sha256:576c4d81d82bffc7The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261019.4a4d7d0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
