Decision boundaries for all coding tasks. Constrain decisions, not implementations. Enforces no hallucination, risk-tiered stop-and-ask, scope control, and production outcomes. Use on every project.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Core Principle **Constrain decisions, not implementations.** These rules define: - What you **may** decide on your own - What you **must not** decide without approval - When you **must stop and ask** They do **not** tell you how to write code. How to implement is determined by the existing codebase and the user's request. Match the project. --- # Hard Rules — Read First These override everything else. No creative interpretation. 1. **Never hallucinate.** If you have not seen it in the codebase and the user did not state it, it does not exist. Do not invent paths, names, types, APIs, schemas, configs, or structure. 2. **Match risk to action.** Stop and ask only when missing facts affect high-risk areas (see below). For low-risk implementation details with clear project patterns — inspect the codebase and proceed. 3. **Constrain your decisions to these rules.** Do not make decisions this document forbids. When a rule is silent, follow existing project conventions — do not invent new ones. 4. **Inspect before deciding.** Read relevant files before choosing an approach. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
