Transcribe an existing audio file with configurable Codex or ConnectOnion cloud ASR.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# ASR Read `co asr --help` for the current options, processing destination and limits. Both providers upload audio; the default is Codex using the local file-backed ChatGPT login. `co env set ASR_PROVIDER connectonion` selects ConnectOnion. `--provider` overrides one call. There is no automatic fallback. Use an existing user-selected audio file, inspect the actual result, and keep the original. `--json` separates success (`ok`, `provider`, `text`) from failures. Empty text can represent silence. Failures name a recovery command; don't invent a transcript, silently choose another provider or claim memory ingestion. Long recordings are split locally with FFmpeg; completed raw parts are saved privately. Use `--resume` with the returned job ID and the same audio after an interruption, retaining that job's provider/model/language. Do not restart all parts or treat partial text as a complete meeting. No word timestamps. The unofficial Codex endpoint can change; a login does not guarantee ASR entitlement. See `co asr --help` before execution rather than guessing parameters.

How to install
mdr add openonion/connectonion/asr@sha256:4ce5130542823ecdThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261025.96136f0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
