Deterministic design critique for HTML/CSS screens. Runs 73 slop guards extracted from the set of rules professional designers use in production-grade designs to catch the tells that make UI read as AI-generated (gradient-clipped headlines, the default indigo accent, puffy shadows, emoji icons, fake dot charts and decorated gauges, badges floated over the hero, eyebrow kickers above the H1, fake magazine mastheads, colored edge-stripe rails, two-tone headlines, over-designed list rows…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Anti-slop check You have a deterministic instrument, not just an opinion. The detector below encodes the set of rules professional designers use in production-grade designs, distilled by [Gesso](https://app.gesso.build): 73 rules, each a detector with a documented condition and threshold, most with an idempotent auto-fix. Simple tells are caught at the regex level; structural tells (a badge floated over the hero headline, ticks sprayed on a gauge) are caught by parsing the markup. Nothing is ever executed. Your job is to run it, report exactly what it found, apply the deterministic fixes, propose concrete edits for what it cannot fix, and only then add your own judgment, clearly labeled as judgment. "Slop" here means the visual tells that make a screen read as generated rather than designed: the gradient-clipped headline, the indigo accent nobody chose, the puffy triple drop-shadow, the emoji standing in for an icon system, the row of equal dots pretending to be a chart, the `$1,842,000` figure that no designer would typeset raw. How to install
mdr add gesso-build/skills/anti-slop@sha256:e9cdbb1c06c9242aThe line at the top of this page pins the label v0.4.3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
