Creates .gitlab-ci.yml files, configures pipeline stages, defines CI jobs and runners, sets up deployment workflows, and generates reusable GitLab CI/CD templates following current best practices and security standards. Use when users ask to create or build a GitLab CI/CD pipeline, CI config, build pipeline, deploy pipeline, GitLab YAML, CI jobs, or any .gitlab-ci.yml configuration from scratch or for a new project.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# GitLab CI/CD Pipeline Generator ## Overview Generate production-ready GitLab CI/CD pipeline configurations following current best practices, security standards, and naming conventions. All generated resources are validated using the `devops-skills:gitlab-ci-validator` skill before delivery. ## Philosophy - Read the references before writing YAML, so the pipeline starts from a vetted pattern rather than memory. - Start from the closest template and customise it, rather than composing a pipeline from scratch. - Secure by default: pinned images, masked variables, explicit timeouts and artifact expiry on every job. - Never present a complete pipeline that has not been validated. ## When to Use - Creating a new `.gitlab-ci.yml` for a project. - Adding Docker build, Kubernetes deployment or multi-project stages to a pipeline. - Extracting repeated job setup into reusable `extends` templates or `include` files. - Adding GitLab security templates such as SAST or dependency scanning. ## When Not to Use - Reviewing or debugging an existing `.gitlab-ci.yml`: use the GitLab CI validator skill instead. …

How to install
mdr add pantheon-org/tekhne/gitlab-ci-generator@sha256:0201588f4110759bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.6ed2a6a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
