Workflow skill that builds an A/B-test validity checklist from an experiment proposal, walking the canonical design-correctness gates - pre-registered OEC/power/guardrails, randomization unit + SRM check, assignment integrity, telemetry, peeking discipline, novelty/primacy, post-experiment SRM re-check - into a per-experiment checklist + sign-off form. Use when launching, auditing, or governing an experiment. For pitfall mechanics (guardrails, peeking) see experiment-results-interpreter's…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# ab-test-validity-checklist ## Overview This skill produces the **pre-flight + post-flight** validity checklist for an A/B test. Each item is a gate; failing one without explicit acknowledgment invalidates the experiment. Per Kohavi et al. *Trustworthy Online Controlled Experiments* (ISBN 978-1108724265): "More than 50% of experiments in practice are invalidated by issues the checklist catches." The output: a per-experiment markdown checklist + a sign-off form for the experiment owner. ## When to use - Launching a new experiment. - Auditing an experiment that produced surprising results. - Building experimentation governance / a peer-review process. - PR review of experiment configuration changes. ## Step 1 - Pre-registration Document **before launch**: | Item | What | |---|---| | OEC | The single metric (or weighted combination) to improve | | Power | Expected effect size, sample size, alpha, beta | | Guardrails | Per `experiment-results-interpreter` references/guardrails.md - list each + threshold | | Randomization unit | User / session / device / cookie / IP / tenant | | Allocation | Percentages per arm; rules for ramp-up | …

How to install
mdr add testland/qa/ab-test-validity-checklist@sha256:ee24b33d2bd57531The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260813.7f38a7f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
