Property-based and metamorphic testing expert for choosing a library, finding good properties (invariants, round-trips, idempotence, oracle/differential, metamorphic relations), and wiring generative tests into the existing test runner.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Property-Based Testing Skill Expert guidance for **property-based** and **metamorphic** testing: instead of asserting one hand-picked example, you state a rule that must hold for *every* input, and the library generates hundreds of inputs to try to break it. ## Where This Fits — the third leg of the formal-methods triad amplihack ships two other formal-methods skills. Property-based testing is the practical middle ground between them: | Approach | Skill | What it checks | Cost | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Example tests | (unit tests) | Behavior on inputs you thought of | Low | | **Property-based / metamorphic** | **property-based-testing** | Invariants over *generated* inputs, at runtime, against real code | Medium | | BDD acceptance | `gherkin-expert` | Human-readable behavior scenarios | Low–medium | | Model checking / proof | `tla-plus-expert` | Exhaustive state-space or temporal properties of a *model* | High | Reach for property-based testing when: - Example tests keep missing edge cases (empty input, huge input, unicode, boundary numbers, duplicates, reordering). - You can state a **rule** the code must obey but can't enumerate every input. …

How to install
mdr add rysweet/amplihack-rs/property-based-testing@sha256:7305b2bba4904544The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
