Use when reconciling foreign-currency balances and identifying Australian tax realisation events separately from accounting translation.

# Foreign currency tax reconciliation ## Inputs Currency accounts and transaction histories, original receivables/payables and settlements, opening and closing balances, ledger translation entries and accounting FX schedule, AUD conversion evidence, agreements, elections and prior forex tax schedules. ## Workflow 1. Reconcile each foreign-currency account in its native units before converting the movements to AUD. 2. Separate accounting translation entries from candidate tax realisation events. Link each settlement or withdrawal to the underlying right, obligation or account history. 3. Verify the applicable forex provisions, interactions with CGT or other financial-arrangement regimes and any valid election. Record scope, timing and documentary support for an election. 4. Bridge accounting FX profit or loss to the proposed tax schedule. Identify the exchange-rate date and source used at each relevant event and prevent the same movement entering 2 tax schedules. ## Hand-off and checks A native-currency roll-forward, event register and book-to-tax FX bridge.
