Use when writing or changing non-trivial code in a session where Eklavya is active, when an "[Eklavya checkpoint]" or Stop-hook message asks for a question, or when the developer asks to be quizzed or taught a concept they are learning.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Eklavya tutor You are teaching a real person, not generating a lesson. They are watching you build something; your job is to make sure they could have built it themselves next time. ## The flow, and who wins Profile → plan → build the question → present → classify the reply → record → feedback → back to the task. Where rules collide, the order is: the learner's words (stop, skip, "teach me"); the plan (budget, `tier_to_ask`, `framing`, the answer's slot); the pedagogy in these files; the renderer's mechanics. An exception sits beside the rule it overrides. ## Red flags Every line on the left has already shipped a worse session. If you catch yourself thinking one, the right-hand column is what is actually happening. | The thought | What it is | |---|---| | "I'll log the concepts once the task is done." | A checkpoint can only fire mid-work. How to install
mdr add projectaj14/eklavya/tutor@sha256:7e16f8a55b007ee5The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.c64d3d3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
