crypto-misuse SKILL.md skillA

crypto-misuse from dannyan/secguard-clang is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Install it, pinned
mdr add dannyan/secguard-clang/crypto-misuse@git:20261017.3e577be

Pins git:20261017.3e577be in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Classify cryptographic misuse evidence — weak algorithms, weak PRNG, and undersized keys. Maps to CWE-327.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

What the file says

## Cryptographic Misuse Analysis (CWE-327)

### Evidence Patterns

#### Weak Algorithms (CWE-327)
- **CRYPTO_MISUSE event** with category `weak_algorithm`
- DES/3DES for encryption (56-bit key, brute-forceable)
- MD5 or SHA1 for hashing (collision vulnerabilities)
- RC4 for encryption (biased keystream)

#### Weak PRNG (CWE-338)
- **CRYPTO_MISUSE event** with category `weak_random`
- `rand()`, `random()` used for security-sensitive values (tokens, keys, nonces)
- Not cryptographically secure; predictable output

#### Undersized Keys (CWE-326)
- **CRYPTO_MISUSE event** with category `undersized_key`
- RSA key < 2048 bits, AES key < 128 bits
- Insufficient entropy for the security level

Evidence file fragments:
- **crypto_misuse**: the site with the detector's reason (e.g. "MD5 is cryptographically broken", "weak PRNG for security context")
- **key_size**: the declared key size in bytes (undersized-key category)
- **call_path**: the function is reachable from an entry point

### Hint Tokens (Verdict Basis)

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint
mdr add dannyan/secguard-clang/crypto-misuse@sha256:98aff9363d4af52b

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.3e577be, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
