Adds a data source or connector to a Power Apps code app. Asks what the user wants to accomplish and routes to the appropriate specialized skill.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Add Data Source
Router skill that understands the user's goal and connects them to the right data source -- without requiring them to know Power Platform terminology.
## Workflow

### Understand the Goal
1. **If `$ARGUMENTS` is provided or the caller already specified what's needed**, use it directly and skip the question below.
2. Otherwise, ask the user **what they want their app to do** -- not which connector to use. Focus on the end goal. Example questions:
- "What kind of data does your app need to work with?"
- "What should your app be able to do? (e.g., search company info, manage tasks, send messages)"
3. Based on their answer, **recommend the best approach** and explain *why* it's the right fit. The user shouldn't need to know the difference between Dataverse, SharePoint, or other connectors -- that's our job.

How to install
mdr add microsoft/power-platform-skills/add-datasource@sha256:3ffb7773b7dde222The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260619.f001179, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
