PR validity analysis: fetch PR diff, extract new code additions, search existing codebase for duplicate or overlapping implementations, classify changes, and create a structured GitHub issue.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# DLC: PR Validity Analysis
Detect duplicate or redundant code introduced by a PR. Read-only analysis — no code modifications.
Before running, **read [../dlc/references/ISSUE-TEMPLATE.md](../dlc/references/ISSUE-TEMPLATE.md) now** for the issue format, and **read [../dlc/references/REPORT-FORMAT.md](../dlc/references/REPORT-FORMAT.md) now** for the findings data structure.
## Step 1: Resolve Target PR
Determine the PR to check and fetch **all** data needed for subsequent steps in a single call:

If no open PR is found, abort with: "No open PR found for the current branch. Push your changes and open a PR first."
### PR Description Quality Check
Extract `.body` from `PR_JSON` and evaluate against a minimal structure rubric:

How to install
mdr add rube-de/cc-skills/pr-validity@sha256:cba610e7b4834652The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260818.efc7b35, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
