code-simplification from blackbelttechnology/pi-agent-dashboard is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Active simplify pass for working code. Use when explicitly asked to "simplify this", "reduce complexity", "clean this up", "make this clearer", or when behavior-preserving readability/maintainability is the goal. Complements the project's passive simplicity-first rule by running a deliberate complexity-reduction loop. Not a spec, plan, or review workflow — does not change behavior.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Code Simplification > Inspired by the [Claude Code Simplifier plugin](https://github.com/anthropics/claude-plugins-official/blob/main/plugins/code-simplifier/agents/code-simplifier.md). Adapted here as a model-agnostic, process-driven skill for any AI coding agent. ## Overview Simplify code by reducing complexity while preserving exact behavior. The goal is not fewer lines — it's code that is easier to read, understand, modify, and debug. Every simplification must pass a simple test: "Would a new team member understand this faster than the original?" ## When to Use - After a feature is working and tests pass, but the implementation feels heavier than it needs to be - During code review when readability or complexity issues are flagged - When you encounter deeply nested logic, long functions, or unclear names - When refactoring code written under time pressure - When consolidating related logic scattered across files - After merging changes that introduced duplication or inconsistency **When NOT to use:** - Code is already clean and readable — don't simplify for the sake of it - You don't understand what the code does yet — comprehend before you simplify …

How to install
mdr add blackbelttechnology/pi-agent-dashboard/code-simplification@sha256:a08903dce0648b45The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260626.d01e4e4, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
