Agent-authored workflow task: generate waveform images per clip and reason visually about silence vs. speech to produce trim specs. Use when waveform_trim's fixed threshold fails due to inconsistent background noise.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Waveform Silence (Visual) `montaj/waveform_silence` is an agent-authored task — you generate waveform images, read them visually, and produce trim specs. No fixed dB threshold. No automated decision. You are the detector. ## When to Use Use this instead of (or after) `waveform_trim` when: - The recording environment changed mid-session (fan kicked on, moved rooms, mic placement shifted) - Background music or ambient noise makes a fixed silence threshold unreliable - `waveform_trim` left too much silence in some clips and cut too aggressively in others - You can see from context that the noise floor is inconsistent across clips `waveform_trim` compares amplitude against a fixed dB number. This skill compares amplitude *within a clip* — relative contrast between the busy and flat regions. That's what makes it robust to a varying noise floor. ## Output Same as `select_takes`: an ordered list of cropped trim spec JSON paths, produced by calling `crop_spec`. Feed directly into `rm_fillers`; the keeps that survive become `tracks[0]` items and the render engine assembles them. --- ## Process ### 1. Generate waveform images — per clip, in parallel …
