Remove spent one-shot `import {}` and `moved {}` blocks after their apply landed, proving per block that state already holds the address and ending on a plan of No changes. Use once an import applied, never before.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# infra-prune
Delete the **one-shot instruction blocks** an adoption leaves behind. `import {}` and
`moved {}` execute once **against a given state**; after that run applies, the resources are
managed by their addresses and the blocks are inert. Nothing else removes them, so they
accumulate. Scope is one leaf at a time — blocks under `terraform/modules/` are out, see
guardrail 5.
This file is a **router**: the reusable machinery — actor model, handoff, resume,
preflight — lives in [`../infra/references/protocol.md`](../infra/references/protocol.md); the manifest in
[`../infra/references/steps.yaml`](../infra/references/steps.yaml) (**phase 5**, `prune-spent-imports`); the
canonical runbook in [`../infra/references/docs/prune.md`](../infra/references/docs/prune.md).
> **Why not the last step of `import`?** The apply has to land between the two, so they can
> never be the same pull request. `import` ends on *imports, not creates*; this ends on *No
> changes*. Two end states, days apart, usually two different sessions.

How to install
mdr add hasansezertasan/infra-skills/infra-prune@sha256:62d64649af9ba6e8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261018.2621782, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
