Safe multi-file refactoring with automatic rollback. Establishes a type/test baseline, plans all changes, executes file-by-file, and verifies zero regressions. Reverts if verification fails after two fix attempts. Handles renames, extracts, moves, splits, merges, and inlines.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# /refactor — Safe Multi-File Refactoring ## Orientation Use `/refactor` when you need to: - Rename a symbol, file, or module across the codebase - Extract a function, component, hook, class, or module from existing code - Inline a function or module back into its callers - Move a file or set of files to a new location - Split a large file into smaller pieces - Merge related files into one - Change a function signature and update all call sites **Don't use when:** debugging a specific bug (use /systematic-debugging); adding new features (use /marshal or /scaffold); deleting dead code (use /marshal for a targeted cleanup). **Boundary with /organize:** /refactor changes code structure within files (extract, inline, split, merge, rename) and moves files as part of those operations. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
