Generates, validates, and refactors production-ready Ansible playbooks, roles, task files, and inventory configurations following current best practices. Use when the user asks to create, build, or generate Ansible automation, YAML playbooks, infrastructure as code, configuration management files, DevOps roles, or .yml files for Ansible — including requests like "create a playbook to...", "build a role for...", "generate an inventory for...", or "set up Ansible to automate...". Automatically…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Ansible Generator ## Overview Generate production-ready Ansible resources (playbooks, roles, task files, inventory files, project configs) following current best practices, naming conventions, and security standards. All generated resources are validated using the `devops-skills:ansible-validator` skill before delivery. ## Philosophy - Generate secure, idempotent automation by default: FQCN modules, named tasks, `no_log` for secrets, strict file modes. - Start from the shipped templates and references rather than from a blank file. - Validation is part of generation, not an optional extra. - Prefer builtin modules; fall back to them when a collection is unavailable. ## When to Use - The user asks to create, build or generate an Ansible playbook, role, task file or inventory. - The user wants project configuration such as `ansible.cfg`, `requirements.yml` or `.ansible-lint`. - An existing Ansible file needs refactoring to current standards (FQCN, `true`/`false` booleans, `dnf` on RHEL). - A request involves a non-builtin collection and needs current module documentation looked up. ## When Not to Use …

How to install
mdr add pantheon-org/tekhne/ansible-generator@sha256:49fefe7e4b181740The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.6ed2a6a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
