Verify code for security issues including hardcoded secrets, input validation, error exposure, and dependency vulnerabilities. Use when asked to "verify security", "check for secrets", or "scan for vulnerabilities".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Security Verification ## Purpose Verify code for security anti-patterns and vulnerabilities. No telemetry or network calls of its own; the code is processed by the host coding agent and its model provider. ## When to Use Trigger this skill when the user asks to: - "verify agent security" - "verify security" - "check for secrets" - "scan for vulnerabilities" - "security audit" > **Note:** For full verification including patterns, quality, and language-specific checks, tell the user to say **"verify agent"**. ## Process ### Step 1: Discover Files Locate files to analyze: **Configuration files:** - `package.json`, `pyproject.toml`, `Cargo.toml` - Dependencies - `.env.example` - Environment template (flag values that look like real secrets) - `.gitignore` - Confirm `.env` and `.env.local` are ignored (if not, flag it as an issue) - `config.py`, `settings.py`, `config.ts` - Configuration **Source files:** - `*.py`, `*.ts`, `*.js`, `*.go`, `*.rs` - Source code - Prioritize files with: `auth`, `api`, `client`, `secret`, `config` in name **Exclude:** - `node_modules/`, `.venv/`, `venv/`, `__pycache__/` - `*.test.*`, `*.spec.*`, `*_test.go` …

How to install
mdr add aurite-ai/agent-verifier/verify-security@sha256:fa482d46df6f1e64The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
