component-architect SKILL.md skillA
component-architect from ham7a311/vitrine is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add ham7a311/vitrine/component-architect@git:20261004.15312e4Pins git:20261004.15312e4 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Design a reusable component's API before its looks - what is fixed, what is configurable, which variants exist - and keep its live preview, generated prompt and source code in agreement. Use when adding a configurable component to a library, or when a component has grown props that fight each other.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# /component-architect
A configurable component makes three promises: the **preview** shows it, the **code** implements it, and the **description or prompt** explains it. Most library bugs come from those three disagreeing.
## 1. Split fixed from configurable
Write two lists.
- **Fixed:** purpose, structure, core interaction, motion model, accessibility contract, responsive behaviour, dependencies. These are always true, and they belong in the base description.
- **Configurable:** each axis that changes, such as colour, theme, layout, density, interaction mode or content. For each axis, list its values and exactly what each one changes.
If a "variant" changes structure or behaviour rather than appearance, it is a different component or a mode prop, not a palette.
## 2. Props follow axes
- One prop per axis (`palette`, `theme`, `mode`), each taking a small union of named values, plus an escape hatch for custom values (e.g. `colors={[...]}`).
- Defaults give the most common case. Props never contradict each other; if two do, merge them into one axis.
- **Accessibility props** (labels, `motion="reduced"`) are first-class and documented, not afterthoughts.

How to install
mdr add ham7a311/vitrine/component-architect@sha256:ea39cef9357af16bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261004.15312e4, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
