Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Skill: Run and Validate DAX
## Trigger
Activate when the user wants to run a DAX query, test a DAX expression, validate syntax, explore model data via DAX, or aggregate values from the connected Power BI Desktop model.
## Prerequisites
Must have an active connection — run `pbi-agent connect` first if DAX commands fail with "no connection".

## Shell Quoting Notes
Multi-line DAX (VAR / RETURN) passed as a shell argument loses line breaks and breaks parsing. For multi-line expressions:
- Prefer inline single-expression form: `DIVIDE([A] - [B], [B])` instead of `VAR x = [A] VAR y = [B] RETURN ...`

How to install
mdr add santoshkanthety/powerbi-agent/powerbi-dax@sha256:d3ee346e2be028d5The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260808.22d6d33, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
