# Compound Estimate — Closing Ritual at PR Merge
Write a compound-log entry for a just-shipped ticket. This is the Phase 1 exit gate for AI-native estimation: without this closer, cost/wall-time signals never feed future estimates and the calibration loop stays open. All mechanical work delegates to this skill's `scripts/compound-log.sh` — your job is collecting the three human-authored inputs and invoking it.
**Paths.** Commands below name files inside this skill's own directory as `${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/…`. Claude Code fills that in. On any other harness, set CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR to the absolute directory that contains this SKILL.md before running them. If you cannot, stop and report `skill_dir_unresolved`.

`<TICKET-ID>` is required unless it can be detected from the current branch name (`gh pr view --json headRefName` → parse the ticket prefix).

How to install
mdr add coalesce-labs/catalyst/compound-estimate@sha256:d2e58b9c9ef50d8cThe line at the top of this page pins the label v1.1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
