Recall past work across Claude Code and Codex sessions. Finds decisions, research, fixes, and conversations by intent; with only a project and no question, orients on that project's recent state.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Remember Recall past work from the shared Claude Code and Codex session history. The consumer and producer do not need to match: Claude can recover Codex work and Codex can recover Claude work. The user is trying to recover context — a decision, a fix, a paper, an approach — not run a database query. When the `cartographer` MCP tools are in your tool list (`recall`, `get`, `mark_used`, `thread`, `orient`), prefer them to the bash commands below: same search, same telemetry, typed arguments (docs/MCP.md). ## Resolve the runtime once Before running commands, resolve `ROOT` to the Session Cartographer plugin root. Prefer `CARTOGRAPHER_ROOT`, then `CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT` or `PLUGIN_ROOT`. If none is set, derive it from this skill's reported base directory (`../..` from `skills/remember`). Use the conventional checkout only as a legacy fallback. Verify that `$ROOT/scripts/cartographer-search.sh` exists. ### Backend selection is shared, not provider-specific `cartographer-search.sh` reads one user-level Cartographer preference for both Claude Code and Codex. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
