Lightweight headless browser automation via Lightpanda and agent-browser CLI: 9x lower memory, 11x faster than Chromium, for scraping and DOM interaction without rendering. Triggers on: "lightpanda", "lightweight browser", "fast headless browser", "headless scraping", "low memory browser", "browser without rendering".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Lightpanda Browser — Fast Headless Automation Headless browser automation using [Lightpanda](https://github.com/lightpanda-io/browser) as the backend engine, controlled through the `agent-browser` CLI via CDP (Chrome DevTools Protocol). **When to use this over agent-browser:** | Use Lightpanda | Use agent-browser (Chromium) | | -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------- | | Web scraping / data extraction | Screenshots, PDFs, visual testing | | Form automation / submission | Video recording / visual debugging | | API response inspection | CSS layout verification | | DOM traversal / content parsing | Mobile device emulation (iOS) | | CI environments with limited RAM | Full browser extension support | | High-volume parallel sessions | Sites requiring full rendering | **Triggers:** - "lightpanda", "lightweight browser", "fast headless" - "scrape with low memory", "headless scraping" - "browser without rendering", "DOM-only browser" - "fast browser automation", "efficient scraping" - "is lightpanda faster than chromium?", "which headless browser uses less memory?" …

How to install
mdr add mathews-tom/armory/lightpanda-browser@sha256:c92fe7c221ad926bThe line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
