Create or validate project context files (AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, GEMINI.md). Use when bootstrapping a new project, initializing agent configuration, writing a context file, or when asked to create, review, audit, or validate an existing context file. Handles codebase archaeology, user interviews, golden-rule validation, and platform-specific formatting. Do NOT use for creating Agent Skills, rules or .instructions.md files.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Context File Generator ## The golden rule Before writing any line, ask: > "Can an agent discover this on its own by reading the codebase?" If yes, delete the line. Agents read `package.json`, `tsconfig.json`, directory trees, linter configs, and README files. They know every popular framework. Restating this wastes tokens and dilutes the instructions that matter. ## Determine mode - **Create mode:** User wants to generate a new context file or has no context file yet. - **Validate mode:** User wants to audit or review an existing context file. How to install
mdr add sergeyklay/.agents/context-files@sha256:5db6fbd8aef2b645The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
