# Veryfront CLI Output Patterns
## Overview
Veryfront CLI follows a strict style guide for terminal output. Human-first by default, machine output via `--json`.
**Core principle:** Simple, empathetic, consistent. Red is only for errors.

## Formatting Rules

| Red only for errors | Never red for warnings or info |

| No emoji in standard output | Use text icons: `✓ ✗ ● ○ !` |
| Respect `NO_COLOR` env var | Colors auto-disable |

How to install
mdr add veryfront/veryfront-code/vf-cli-output@sha256:60ed245afd0b2a71The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260320.9b86116, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
