figure-style SKILL.md skillA
figure-style from emaballarin/ccplugins is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Publication-grade figure correctness and legibility rules for final-deliverable figures — not every plot. Quick look or iterating on the analysis (EDA scatters, sanity-check histograms)? Plot plainly without this skill. Producing a figure that ships — report, paper, export, or a file you keep — load this skill first and call `apply_figure_style()` — sets a role-mapped font-size ladder, outward ticks, frameless legends, and 300-dpi output. The skill is a checklist, not a house look: data…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Publication-Grade Figure Rules
_A checklist for correct, legible, internally-consistent scientific figures. This
skill does not impose a visual house style — frame, font, and palette are
parameters. Once the kernel is loaded (below), call `k.apply_figure_style()` before
plotting._
## Loading the kernel
The helpers live in `kernel.py` next to this file. It is not auto-injected —
import it in each Bash `python` heredoc (each run is a fresh process), then
call helpers as `k.apply_figure_style()`, `k.panel_crops(fig)`, …:
```python
import importlib.util
spec = importlib.util.spec_from_file_location("fs_kernel", "${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/kernel.py")
k = importlib.util.module_from_spec(spec)
spec.loader.exec_module(k)
```
## §0 Scope
**Load trigger.** This skill is for **final-deliverable figures** — those
shipping in a report, paper, or export, or saved as a file that will be kept —
not for exploratory/intermediate plots (quick looks, EDA, sanity checks), which
are drawn plainly without it. Once loaded, "every plot" below means every plot
you render toward the deliverable.
§1–§3, §8, and §9 are **correctness** — they apply to every plot, in every

How to install
mdr add emaballarin/ccplugins/figure-style@sha256:db7c458cbbea973fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261003.faedaf3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
