spice-guide SKILL.md skillA
spice-guide from cognitohazard/ltspice-mcp is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cognitohazard/ltspice-mcp/spice-guide@git:20261003.a3b3e21Pins git:20261003.a3b3e21 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use for any circuit simulation or SPICE task: LTspice, ngspice, netlists, .asc schematics, analog or power circuits, simulation results. Read this before writing a deck, running a simulator, or writing analysis code yourself: it points to the ltspice-mcp server's guide.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Read the server's guide first
The ltspice-mcp server carries the guide for this work: how to use the
server, when to use Python or the tools, the Python API, the rules that cause
silent errors, and sections on each simulator, the tools, and whole tasks such
as characterizing an amplifier. Read its core once per session, before you
start:
- With the MCP tools: `inspect(queries=[{"kind": "guide"}])`
- In Python, in `run_code` or a script with `from ltspice_mcp.api import Api`:
`print(Api.guide())`
- From a shell where the package is installed, without starting the engine:
`python -m ltspice_mcp.api guide`
The core ends in an index. Before each task, read the section the index names
for it, by passing its name: `inspect(queries=[{"kind": "guide", "section":
"ltspice"}])`, or `Api.guide("ltspice")`.Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add cognitohazard/ltspice-mcp/spice-guide@sha256:c846c6f429ce3160The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261003.a3b3e21, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
