Shared guidelines for writing concise, high-signal outbound communication the agent posts or drafts on the user's behalf, covering GitHub PR and issue comments, inline review comments, review reports, thread replies, PR and issue descriptions, Slack messages and announcements, and email. Other skills reference this instead of restating concision and tone rules.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Communication Guidelines Shared baseline for every piece of text the agent writes on the user's behalf, whether the agent posts it or returns it for the user to send. Other skills reference this file instead of restating concision and tone rules. This is a reference, not a workflow: no command to run and no artifact to produce. ## When to use - Any skill that composes text a human will read on GitHub, Slack, or email. - Loaded by name from other skills, for example "apply `skills/communication-guidelines/SKILL.md` before composing the body". - Loaded directly when the user asks to post a comment, reply on a PR or issue, write a PR or issue description, or draft a message. ## Core principles - Be concise. - Use plain language: short, direct sentences in the active voice, with common words over jargon and buzzwords. - Write literally, with no metaphors, idioms, or other figurative language the reader must decode. - Lead with the point: the ask, finding, decision, or answer is the first sentence. - Do not use em-dashes, use commas or parentheses instead. - One sentence per line. …

How to install
mdr add tomzx/agents/communication-guidelines@sha256:68d46af0d7b33ea3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261007.b35fc4b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
