skill-validate SKILL.md skillA
skill-validate from techygarg/lattice is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add techygarg/lattice/skill-validate@git:20261009.a96f344Pins git:20261009.a96f344 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Validate any Lattice SKILL.md against all tier conventions — atoms, molecules, and refiners. Catches structural errors, broken cross-references, and convention violations before they reach the repo. If you just wrote or modified a Lattice skill file and haven't run this yet, run it now — manual review consistently misses the same categories of errors this skill is specifically designed to catch. Use when the user says 'validate this skill', 'check this skill', 'does this follow conventions'…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Skill Validator
**Core responsibility:** Verify that a SKILL.md is structurally correct, follows all Lattice tier conventions, and composes correctly with the rest of the framework.
**Input:** One or more of:
- A file path: `source/atoms/clean-code/SKILL.md`
- A skill name: `clean-code` (resolves to the correct path automatically)
- A tier: `atoms` (validates all skills in that tier)
- No argument: validates all skills across all three tiers (count derived from `source/` at runtime — never hardcoded)
**Output:** A findings report per skill:
```
## Skill Validator — {skill-name}
Tier: {atom | molecule | refiner}
### Structural PASS / FAIL — specific findings
### Tier conventions PASS / FAIL — specific findings
### Cross-references PASS / FAIL — specific findings
### Three-angle review PASS / WARN / FAIL per lens
Result: PASS | FAIL (N errors, M warnings)
```
**How to verify this skill did its job:**
- Every finding references a specific file and section (no vague "missing content" — says exactly what is missing and where)
- FAIL findings have an actionable fix, not just a description of the problem

How to install
mdr add techygarg/lattice/skill-validate@sha256:db43107e3566cd5dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261009.a96f344, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
