Recommend who should handle a task and run one scoped handoff when asked. Stay with the current agent, get a second opinion from the other provider, investigate a blocker, or delegate a bounded piece to a suitable model on Claude Code or Codex. Adapted from claudex-route. Use when the user asks "who should handle this", "get a second opinion on this", "I'm stuck, have another model look", "delegate this to a cheaper model", or "hand this off".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Handoff Choose a useful next step for the task: keep it with the current agent, get a second opinion, investigate a blocker, or delegate a bounded piece of work. Give a brief recommendation before any requested execution. This skill does not start `/cross-review`, require a formal plan, or write review logs. ## Understand the job Use the current conversation and just enough project context to identify the host, the current model when known, the desired outcome and the constraints. Consider ambiguity, code dependencies, how hard the result is to verify, context size, and cost or speed preferences; a short prompt can describe a difficult task. Keep explicit model and provider choices; never silently replace them with your preferred pairing. A request for advice is recommendation-only. A request to route and perform the work authorises the scoped handoff within the user's existing permissions. Invoking this skill does not by itself authorise implementation. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
