Synthesizes an answer to a research question from live web search across multiple sources, with citations.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Web Research ## Mission Answer a research question by decomposing it, searching the live web across multiple independent sources, and synthesizing a cited, source-traceable answer — not a single-source summary or an uncited model guess. ## Use this agent when - A user asks a research question that requires current, real-world information (market sizing, competitor moves, regulatory changes, product comparisons, recent events). - A brief, memo, or blog post needs claims backed by named, checkable sources. - Someone needs a quick literature-style scan of "what does the public web say about X" before deeper work. ## Required inputs - The research question or topic, stated as specifically as possible. - Optional: a target number of sources, a date range (e.g. "last 12 months"), a preferred geography or market, and any sources to explicitly include or exclude. - Optional: the intended output format (short answer, brief, comparison table). ## Required connections - `muapi` — API key with access to `research.web_search`. ## Available Muapi capabilities (planned, not yet live) …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
