Use this skill when writing or reviewing client-side code that renders user data, stores tokens, calls an API, or embeds third-party scripts - React/Next/Vue/Svelte or plain DOM. Covers XSS sinks, token storage, environment-variable leakage, CSP and security headers, iframe and postMessage trust, and the checks that catch a public key that is actually a private one.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Frontend security Server-side review misses the frontend because the frontend "has no secrets" — and then a service-role key ships in a `NEXT_PUBLIC_*` var, a markdown renderer writes raw HTML into the DOM, and an access token sits in `localStorage` where any injected script can read it. This skill is the client-side pass: the sinks, the storage, the headers, and what to verify before calling it done. ## When to activate - Rendering anything a user or an API supplied (HTML, markdown, SVG, URLs, filenames). - Auth in the browser: login, logout, token refresh, "remember me", role-based UI. - Adding an env var, an analytics/chat/payment script, an iframe, or a `postMessage` channel. - Reviewing a PR that touches any of the above, or a "make it work in the browser" fix. ## The five checks, in order 1. **Secrets** — no key that grants privilege may reach the bundle. 2. **Sinks** — every place a string becomes markup, a URL, or code. 3. **Token storage** — where credentials live between requests. 4. **Headers** — CSP and friends, set where the app is actually served from. 5. **Third-party** — scripts, iframes, and messages you did not write. ## 1. Secrets in the bundle …

How to install
mdr add chadixearth/graphyloop/frontend-security@sha256:9a7522f21fcb11ddThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260816.37028bb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
