Working reference for Flask (pallets/flask), the Python WSGI micro web framework built on Werkzeug, Jinja and Click, distilled from the official docs in the repository. Covers routing and views, the app/request context and request lifecycle, application factories and blueprints, configuration (every built-in config key with its default), the flask CLI and dotenv, Jinja templating, error handling, logging and debugging, testing with pytest, production deployment…

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

What the file says

# Flask

Source: https://github.com/pallets/flask - README plus the `docs/` tree
(77 pages). Flask is a lightweight WSGI web application framework: quick to
start, able to scale to complex apps. It depends on Werkzeug (WSGI), Jinja
(templates), MarkupSafe (escaping), ItsDangerous (signing the session
cookie), Click (the `flask` command) and Blinker (signals). Supports
Python 3.10 and newer.

## Core mental model

- **"Micro" means a small, extensible core**, not a toy. Flask picks the
template engine (Jinja) and the WSGI layer (Werkzeug) and nothing else.
It will never ship a database layer or a form library. Extensions cover those.
- **One explicit application object.** `app = Flask(__name__)`. Flask uses
`__name__` to find templates, static files and resources relative to your
package. An explicit object means you can run several apps at once (useful
for tests), subclass `Flask`, and wrap the WSGI app in middleware.
- **Setup phase vs. serving phase.** Register routes, blueprints, config,
Jinja settings and extensions *before* the first request. WSGI servers run
many workers, so changes made later never reach all of them. Flask raises

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint
mdr add michalstrnadel/source-to-skill/flask@sha256:fa6c820a7f5bd71f

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261004.d77ddfa, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
