Inject expectation-fit principles into the planning phase — surface the least-astonishment, convention, simplicity, and UX considerations relevant to the work being planned, as a tailored advisory checklist. Lightweight and non-blocking; use while drafting a plan or thinking through an approach, before a full plan doc exists. For validating a finished plan, use fit-validate-plan instead.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Expectation Fit — Planning Assist

A fast, advisory pass that brings the principles to the table *while* you plan, so the
design starts intuitive instead of being corrected later. It does not fan out a heavy
review or score anything — it emits a tailored checklist of the considerations that
matter for *this* work, drawn from the principle docs.

## When to use

- Drafting an approach or a plan, before a finished plan doc exists.
- Deciding between designs and wanting the principle trade-offs surfaced.
- As a planning-phase companion (a planning workflow can call this to enrich a draft).

For a finished plan/spec doc, use `fit-validate-plan`. For code, use `fit-review`.

## How it works

This skill runs **inline** (no sub-agents by default — it's meant to be quick and
conversational). Steps:

1. **Establish the subject.** Use the argument, or the current plan draft /
   conversation, to state in one line what's being planned and identify the
   surface(s): backend logic, public API/interface, framework/stack, user-facing UI,
   data/config.

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261009.3c63155, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
