Setup and upgrade Expectation Fit project config in .expectation-fit/ — full wizard for greenfield monoliths and multi-repo workspaces (placement, conventions.auto roots, severity_align, pattern preference), plus upgrade that merges missing capabilities without clobbering notes. Optional calibrate measures repo distributions and proposes thresholds. Stack-aware; idempotent. Use to set up, extend, or upgrade a project's .expectation-fit/ config.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Expectation Fit — Init / setup / upgrade
Scaffolds and upgrades project config under `.expectation-fit/` so a team can declare ways of
working (lens toggles, conventions, auto sources, severity align), design-pattern
policy (preferred / allow / block / approved), and architecture thresholds — then
commit them. Once present, `.expectation-fit/` supersedes the plugin defaults
(`${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/references/config-resolution.md`) for every `fit-*` run in that
tree (via walk-up).
**Modes** (auto-detected when `$ARGUMENTS` is blank; overridable by token):
| Mode | When | What it does |
|------|------|--------------|
| **fresh** | no project `.expectation-fit/` yet (or user said `fresh` / `all` / file tokens) | Full setup wizard → write files |
| **upgrade** | `.expectation-fit/` exists (or user said `upgrade`) | Diff capabilities vs defaults; merge only missing keys with confirm |
| **calibrate** | user said `calibrate` [percentile] | Measure distributions; propose thresholds with evidence |
Also supports legacy file tokens: `all`, `ways`, `patterns`, `thresholds` (skip profile
questions when non-interactive; still run stack-aware copy rules).

How to install
mdr add davidteren/intent-engineering/fit-setup@sha256:475def870aeb797dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261009.55f76ee, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
