Slices a feature spec into implementable vertical-slice stories (contract → backend → frontend/game → tests) with acceptance criteria mapped to tests, size, layer and ADR links, in production/stories/F-NNN/. Run after /feature-spec and before /sprint-plan, or for 'break this feature into stories', 'create stories for F-NNN', 'what are the tasks'.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Create Stories
Reply in the project conversation language (CLAUDE.md → Language); code, identifiers, paths and commit messages stay in English.
Templates (`.claude/docs/templates/`): `story.md`, `roadmap.md`, `deploy-runbook.md`, `findings.md`. Files are written only after "May I write?" (Phase 4). In the commands below, `<hooks>` is `.claude/hooks/` in copy mode and `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/` in plugin mode.
This skill spawns no subagent: the criteria it slices were reviewed with the feature spec (`/feature-spec` Phase 3) and the test level per criterion is checked again by `/qa-plan`; slicing is the parent's own work, so `Task` is not among its tools.
## Phase 1: Context
1. **The feature spec**: the argument (`F-NNN` → `docs/specs/features/F-NNN-*.md`, or a path); none → ask. Acceptance criteria are mandatory. A spec without them → stop with `BLOCKED (no acceptance criteria — complete the spec with /feature-spec F-NNN)` and write nothing.
2. **Read**: the API contract, the data model, ADRs, the test strategy, and the existing stories (for numbering).

How to install
mdr add gonimar/claude-web-studio/create-stories@sha256:7214714430df9dd5The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260927.d019450, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
