Query NZ traffic, cycle and pedestrian count sites and time series, from Auckland Transport, NZTA TMS, Heart of the City, Hamilton, Christchurch, Wellington and Tauranga. Use for historical volumes, active-mode monitoring and nearby count sites.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# NZ traffic counts Use the stdlib Python CLI in `scripts/cli.py` for public traffic surveys, cycle counts and pedestrian camera observations. Start with `sources`, choose a source, then obtain the exact site identifier with `sites` before querying `counts`. ```bash python3 scripts/cli.py sources --json python3 scripts/cli.py sources --source wellington-sensors --json python3 scripts/cli.py sites --source hamilton-traffic --limit 2 --json python3 scripts/cli.py counts --source hamilton-traffic --site 2893 --from 2023-01-01 --to 2023-12-31 --json python3 scripts/cli.py counts --source christchurch-cycle --site 100045582 --format geojson python3 scripts/cli.py nearest --source wellington-sensors --near 174.7754,-41.3199 --limit 2 --format geojson python3 scripts/cli.py counts --source wellington-sensors --site 48346 --from 2026-09-01 --to 2026-09-01 --json python3 scripts/cli.py sites --source at-adt --bbox 174.74,-36.87,174.79,-36.83 --format geojson --json python3 scripts/cli.py counts --source at-adt --site 23788:522 --json python3 scripts/cli.py sites --source at-traffic --limit 5 --json …

How to install
mdr add thecolab-ai/.skills/nz-traffic-counts@sha256:b2c126e81fdfab1fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261011.02a3ba5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
