Use when an approved spec or design needs to become an implementation plan, after mise and before any code. Also use when the user says "write the plan", "plan this out", or the work will be executed later, by someone else, or in a fresh session.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# recipe A recipe card is written so a cook who has never seen the dish can plate it exactly: exact pan, exact minutes, steps in order. "Season to taste" is how the same dish comes out different every night. This skill turns an approved spec into that card: an implementation plan a fresh agent session can execute with you unavailable for questions. **The plan holds the decisions, and the code stays out of it.** Write for a capable engineer who can produce idiomatic code in the project's language once they are told the interface and the test. What they cannot recover alone is your decisions: which files, which names and signatures, which values the spec fixes, which tests prove each task. Those are the plan's content. DRY, YAGNI, test-first, frequent commits. ## Preconditions - An approved design or spec exists ([mise](../mise/SKILL.md)'s output, or equivalent). No spec? Run mise first. Recipe shapes decided work; it does not decide. - One plan per subsystem. How to install
mdr add escoffier-labs/skillet/recipe@sha256:c05ca8e5cba6f0a0The line at the top of this page pins the label v0.2.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
