# dotnet-inspect Use dotnet-inspect to find evidence from direct local libraries, packages from configured sources, and Platform libraries, including APIs and dependencies. Run `dnx dotnet-inspect -y -- <command-or-target>`. `-y` skips confirmation, and `--` passes the remaining arguments to dotnet-inspect. Start by identifying the kind of result needed. If the intent or result space is unclear, use a bare target and let the router choose. Otherwise, enter the matching space directly. Platform queries use installed packs when the requested version is available; otherwise they use a package-backed source. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
