Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Guaardvark: connect and check
Guaardvark runs on the user's own machine. Everything below is local; nothing leaves the box.
## Where it is
- Backend URL: `${GUAARDVARK_URL:-http://localhost:5000}`. The macOS default port is **5055**
(AirPlay owns 5000). The web UI is on port 5173 in dev, or the same port as the backend in Docker.

If the backend is not reachable, tell the user to start it from the Guaardvark checkout
(`./start.sh`, or `docker compose up`), then retry. Do not try to start it yourself.
## Two ways to drive it
1. **MCP tools** (preferred when present): the `guaardvark` MCP server exposes RAG, memory,
code intelligence, file processing, web fetch, image/video/animation/music-video/film-crew
generation, songs and speech (`generate_music`, `generate_speech`),
`get_generation_status` for any queued batch or song, outreach drafting and GPU/log

How to install
mdr add guaardvark/guaardvark/setup@sha256:7a8ff84b5db910bfThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.817570c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
