Find a Telegram chat, group or channel by name and return its numeric id and t.me link from a local index, with no live crawl. Also answers which groups you share with a person or company. This is the chat lane, not people search. Triggers: "/chat <query>", "find the <X> chat", "chat id for <X>".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# /chat — instant Telegram chat lookup Anton's pain: "find chat X" used to mean 20–60 min crawling the live dialog list. The chat's `telegram_id` + link already live in `chats.db` (built from the CRM `tg_entities` dump — the same extraction the CRM's mtproto-api does). Look it up, get the id, then operate the chat directly via the Telegram MCP. ## Rule (always) When you need to act on "some chat by name", FIRST query the local index — never crawl the live dialog list blind. How to install
mdr add tonydzi/second-brain-starter-kit/chat@sha256:99f7bfc73c2bd938The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261007.cd6c208, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
