memory-leak SKILL.md skillA

memory-leak from dannyan/secguard-clang is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Install it, pinned
mdr add dannyan/secguard-clang/memory-leak@git:20261022.86d181c

Pins git:20261022.86d181c in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Classify memory-leak evidence — MEMORY_ALLOC events where an allocated block is lost on some path with no reachable free, escape, or ownership transfer. Maps to CWE-401.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

What the file says

## Memory Leak Analysis (CWE-401)

### Evidence Pattern
A memory-leak candidate has:
- **memory_alloc**: an allocation at a source line — `malloc`/`calloc`/`realloc` (raw or cast), an implicit allocator (`strdup`, `asprintf`/`vasprintf`, `getline`/`getdelim`, `realpath(path, NULL)`), or a custom allocator from the project contract; carries the acquire API (`via malloc`)
- **definite** / **conditional**: the CFG reachability verdict — `definite` = no free/escape/transfer is reachable on any path to function exit; `conditional` = released on some paths, trace each error/early-return path
- **call_path**: the function is reachable from an entry point

Released sites never reach you: the pipeline's ReleaseFilter drops a proved-released
allocation before a candidate is written.

The detector marks the seed event `definite=true` when the CFG proves no free/escape/transfer is reachable from the allocation; the planner's leak-proof filter promotes a `definite` candidate to `confirmed`.

### Hint Tokens (Verdict Basis)

| Token | Meaning | Your action |
|-------|---------|-------------|
| `alloc@N` | the allocation site line | where the ownership starts |

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint
mdr add dannyan/secguard-clang/memory-leak@sha256:ddc50f27d281d84b

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261022.86d181c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
