Fresh-context review of a change against its stated intent, before the change is acted on. Use before a commit (not the per-iteration commits of an autonomous loop the operator started, such as `/ar:resume`), before a release, or before launching a run whose result will be acted on — whenever the change is more than a one-line tweak, and always for an audit script, a release, or a pipeline feeding an experiment. Hands the diff and a written intent, never the implementer's reasoning, to a fresh…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# /ws:review-gate — a second reader before the change is acted on The context that built a change shares its author's blind spots: it reads the diff through the reasoning that produced it. The gate puts the change in front of a reader with **fresh** context, who sees what was written and what was asked for, and nothing in between. Scale it with blast radius: a one-flag tweak skips it; an audit script, a release, or a change feeding an experiment never does — except the per-iteration commits of an autonomous loop the operator started (`/ar:resume`), which the loop's own measurement gates. ## 1. Scope Take the first that applies, and state it in one line: 1. What the operator named — a commit range, a branch, a set of files. 2. In a git repository: before a commit, everything against `HEAD` (`git diff HEAD` plus untracked files from `git ls-files --others --exclude-standard`, as wholly new hunks); before a release or merge, everything since the merge base with the default branch. In a repository with no commits yet, everything against the empty tree — `git diff $(git hash-object -t tree /dev/null)` — plus untracked files. …

How to install
mdr add emaballarin/ccplugins/review-gate@sha256:0431ef2774efdac9The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261003.feb6317, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
