Tune the parameters of an existing NeuroWorkflow graph until a measured quantity lands in a target range — choose what to explore and what to hit, check the model can reach the target, run the search, reject degenerate dynamics, and report the result. Use when the user wants to fit, tune, calibrate or optimize a workflow that already runs.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Optimize Model Parameters Take a workflow that already runs, and search its parameter space until a measured quantity — a firing rate, an inter-spike interval, anything numeric a node outputs — lands where the user wants it. **Who this is for.** These are operating instructions for *you*, the agent, when someone asks you to tune, fit or calibrate a workflow on their behalf. This is **not** the reference documentation and not a user guide: `docs/OPTIMIZATION.md` explains how the engine works and is what to hand a person who wants to read rather than delegate. What follows is the procedure — what to decide, what to verify before spending compute, what to do while a run is going, and how to report the result. Code shown uses the real API, so it can be run as written. > **Preliminary version — expect this file to change.** It describes the inner loop only: one > search over one workflow, driven from Python. Three things are still moving, so check the code > and `docs/OPTIMIZATION.md` before relying on a detail here: > > - **The GUI half does not exist yet.** Declaring a study on the canvas, generating optimization …

How to install
mdr add oist/neuro-workflow/optimize-model-parameters@sha256:cebf2746e1339cb7The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260913.9bb9bce, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
