Autonomous quality improvement loop. Scores a target against a rubric, selects the highest-leverage axis, attacks it, verifies, documents, and loops. No pre-planning between iterations — each loop re-scores from scratch.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# /improve — Autonomous Quality Engine
## Orientation
**Use when:** Scoring a target against a rubric and iteratively improving it. Rubric required at `.planning/rubrics/{target}.md` (Phase 0 creates one if missing).
**Don't use when:** Refactoring without a rubric (use `/refactor`), one-time code review (use `/review`), or debugging a specific bug (use `/systematic-debugging`).
## Invocation

`target` is a slug that maps to `.planning/rubrics/{target}.md`.
If no rubric exists, run Phase 0 first.
## Campaign Mode
When invoked with `--n` or `--continue`, improve operates in **campaign mode** and maintains a campaign file that daemon can attach to.

How to install
mdr add sethgammon/citadel/improve@sha256:ae411ed3352d4a11The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260611.0f3f8e7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
