## Project Structure & Module Organization
Core code lives under `src/`:
- `src/bub/__main__.py`: Typer CLI entrypoint; `main` (the `bub` script) checks the `app` extra before importing the CLI.
- `src/bub/core/`: agent kernel with no settings or plugin dependencies: agent loop over a tape store (`agent.py`), model protocol and Republic chat model adapter (`model.py`), agent events and their bus (`events.py`), the tape recorder handler (`recorder.py`), system prompt sections (`system_prompt.py`), command prompts (`commands.py`), tools, tape, store, tape context, and code mode (`codemode/`: `CodeMode`, the `run_code` subprocess runner, and the `republic` bridge).
- `src/bub/framework.py`: turn orchestration and outbound routing.
- `src/bub/hooks/`: hook specifications, execution helpers, and interception contracts.
- `src/bub/channels/`: channel bases, routing contracts, admission policy, and lifecycle manager.
- `src/bub/{envelope,turn,streaming,errors,model_selection}.py`: small kernel vocabulary owned by each concern.

How to install
mdr add bubbuild/bub/AGENTS.md@sha256:4207f4d655cfeeb4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.52d2fea, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
