aws-batch SKILL.md skillA
aws-batch from skillmds/skillmd is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add skillmds/skillmd/aws-batch@git:20260919.fecc0d5Pins git:20260919.fecc0d5 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use when working with Aws Batch — aWS Batch compute environment management, job queue analysis, scheduling policy review, and array job monitoring. Covers compute resource utilization, job status tracking, failure investigation, Fargate vs EC2 comparison, and queue priority analysis.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# AWS Batch Skill
Analyze AWS Batch compute environments and jobs with parallel execution and anti-hallucination guardrails.
**Relationship to other AWS skills:**
- `aws-batch/` → Batch-specific analysis (compute environments, job queues, jobs)
- `aws/` → "How to execute" (parallel patterns, throttling, output format)
## CRITICAL: Parallel Execution Requirement
**ALL independent operations MUST run in parallel using background jobs (&) and wait.**
```bash
#!/bin/bash
export AWS_PAGER=""
for ce in $compute_envs; do
describe_compute_env "$ce" &
done
wait
```
## Helper Functions
```bash
#!/bin/bash
export AWS_PAGER=""
# List compute environments
list_compute_environments() {
aws batch describe-compute-environments \
--output text \
--query 'computeEnvironments[].[computeEnvironmentName,state,status,type,computeResources.type,computeResources.minvCpus,computeResources.maxvCpus,computeResources.desiredvCpus]'
}
# List job queues
list_job_queues() {
aws batch describe-job-queues \
--output text \
--query 'jobQueues[].[jobQueueName,state,status,priority,computeEnvironmentOrder[].computeEnvironment]'
}
# List jobs by status
list_jobs() {
How to install
mdr add skillmds/skillmd/aws-batch@sha256:f064ddfd9ea205b8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260919.fecc0d5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
