# Lab Rat Setup The plugin works correctly the moment it is installed. Most users never need to run setup. This skill exists to (1) show what was auto-detected on the user's system, and (2) let users opt into a few extras (notifications, allowlist, project CLAUDE.md, LaTeX). ## Step 0: Auto-detection tour (always run first) Before asking any questions, print what the plugin already knows. No prompts, no decisions, just visibility. How to install
mdr add fcakyon/labrat/setup@sha256:32123e47f1f2cfcdThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261030.b34f8aa, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
